Today is a special day for my beloved practicum school. They are now celebrating their 21st Founding anniversary. As part of their celebration of their anniversary, Headmaster Dra. Anies asked us to sing a Filipino song.

Wearing traditional Javanese Clothes for the 21st Founding Anniversary of SMANCA

We are four Filipinos SEA Teachers at SMANCA. So, we decided to sing 3 folksongs from the Philippines. These are Leron-Leron Sinta, Bahay Kubo and Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Pakitong-Kitong. The music teacher from SMANCA gave us accompaniment for the songs.

The cross-cultural understanding is really shown in our performance. We are wearing traditional Javanese clothes while singing Filipino songs! We enjoyed the experience. Both the teachers and the students enjoyed the songs especially the Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Pakitong-Kitong. Actually, some of the students and teachers kept singing Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Pakitong-Kiton after the performance. They seem under Last Song Syndrome. It was so cute!

Below is our performance:
