SEE YOU AGAIN SMANCA & UII!
Monday, February 4 Around 7:30 in the morning, the university van picked us up. It was so sad to think that this will the last time that...
On 544 BC, a Greek philosopher named Heraclitus said, “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he’s not the same man”. The reason why I started my blog by this quotation is that this quotation is the summary of my experiences as a participant of the 7th Batch of SEA TEACHER Project organized by the South East Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
Through this project, it opened and broadened my perspective about the role of today’s 21st-century teacher facing the need to globalize. The SEA TEACHER Project gave me that chance to make myself better as a future educator equipped with skills to teach globally in this fast-changing world.
Just like the man who crossed the river and came back as a new different man, I am certain that a different ‘me’ will go back to the Philippines. The Philippines and my home university, NEUST is waiting for a new version of myself, who is a wiser, better and more open-minded educator. I am excited to share and impart what I have learned and experienced here at Indonesia to my teachers, friends, classmates and future students that I know will be useful for us to progress and see the world in a completely new perspective as a global citizen.
I truly believe that education is transformative. Education can change us, so we can change the world. If that so, the world is not the same world as what we had neither yesterday nor tomorrow and so am I.
